Queens, New York is an amazing city to find yourself in when you’re looking for a new adventure. Are you here on business? Pleasure? Or are you a local? Whatever your port of call, Queens has something for everyone to enjoy. Some museums are closed at this time, but we’ve found a few places to recommend while you’re in town. So sit back and have a gander at what Queens has to offer.

First, we recommend the Queens Zoo. If you love wildlife, and who doesn’t, spending a day at the zoo is a fantastic choice. Events have been closed until further notice, however, all the animal enclosures are open for public viewing. All shops and restaurants are open. Book your tickets online and choose your entry time. Whatever your favorite animal, be it the lion, the giraffe, the penguin, the bear, the cougar, or the wolf, the Queens Zoo has it all. Since the zoo is enjoyed out of doors, it is open to the public.

Second, we suggest the Museum of the Moving Image. This museum celebrates movies of all kinds and has exhibits on display that showcase Jim Hensen’s muppets, as well as the Dark Crystal. Several exhibits are offered online so that you do not need to leave the comfort of your home or hotel room. If you are extra adventurous, you can even rent the Queens Drive-In! For a fun day with the whole family, come on down to the Museum of the Moving Image and have a great time.

The Queens Botanical Garden is a lush and exquisite collection of gardens and greenhouses you can meander through that will tantalize your senses. The garden is 39 acres in the middle of Queens and that makes it unique amid other botanical gardens around the globe. You’ll be delighted to walk among the Christmas roses, the Witch Hazel, the Crocus, the Winter Jasmine, and the Snowdrops. Several art exhibitions are here as well making it so much more than plant life to peruse. You’ll have a day filled with color at the Queens Botanical Garden.

Finally, the Flushing Meadows Corona Park is a staple of Queens and a must-see landmark whenever you come to town. Some might say this is one of the city’s most iconic parks, as it was the site of two twentieth-century World’s Fairs. Scenic trails, historic walks, sports, and other outdoor activities make this park a huge draw for locals and tourists alike. This park has all kinds of lakes and trails to explore by foot, on bikes, or by kayak. If you’re a nature lover, this park is most definitely for you. Bring the whole family out and have yourself a picnic on the grass. You’ll have a lovely day.

Queens has plenty to do if you’re looking to have a good time with great friends. Take advantage of a sunny day and get out to the zoo and the parks! Or stay in and enjoy one of the museums, either in person or at home. Whatever you decide, you’ll be sure to enjoy the adventure you choose.
