2020 was wild with all the crazy events it included. Before a year that many would call a disaster comes to an end, we can at least all still have some holiday cheer. Although many holiday traditions are being altered or skipped this holiday season, there is still cheer to be found! In many places, including D.C., a festive activity that is still socially-distant is viewing Christmas lights around the town.

ZooLights is taking its show on the road – literally! “Panda Claws” will be atop a bedecked holiday truck as it tootles around the city with its light-up animals on the weekend. The ZooLights Express will visit a different DC ward per day Friday and Saturday nights from November 27 through December 19. This event is free.

The Bull Run Festival of Lights is a fantastic drive through experience with 2.5 miles of Christmas lights and holiday cheer sure to please your family. You do not want to miss the warm and colorful lights as you enjoy the show from the warmth and comfort of your own car. This event is open now through January 10, 2021. Tickets are required, ranging in price from $25-$35 per vehicle

  1. Winter Walk of Lights

This winter, prepare to be amazed as the Meadowlark Botanical Gardens are transformed into a colorful display of flowers and more in the Winter Walk of Lights. Trees are alight with beautiful figures of flowers, butterflies, and more. The Gardens ask that you practice social distancing and please wear your mask. Tickets available now through through January 3, 2021. Tickets range in price from $18.75-$20 for adults, $11.25-$12.5o for kids younger than 13.
