More FAQs

Public/Ground Transportation

Because of its location between two cities in South Carolina, there are no public transportation options to/from Greenville-Spartanburg. This means that shuttle services, taxis, or rideshare apps are the only options for anyone who does not want to take their car to the airport.

1.      Eastside Transportation: a taxi and limo service company that is the official ground transportation provider for GSP. Eastside Transportation serves Upstate South Carolina and Atlanta, Columbia, Asheville, and the surrounding areas. Shuttles must be reserved ahead of time.

2.      Hotel Courtesy Shuttles: reservations can be made with select hotels for pick-up/drop-off at the airport. Contact your hotel ahead of time to see if they offer this service or visit the Information Center in Baggage Claim upon arrival.

Ride Sharing

The convenience of rideshare makes them an ever-increasing option for anyone who does not want to take their car to the airport and is incredibly enticing at GSP because there are no public transportation options.

The rates below for Uber and Lyft have been calculated from two different locations: coming from Greenville and coming from Spartanburg, because of the large area which GSP airport services. A ride from Greenville to GSP takes 35-minutes, and a lift from Spartanburg takes 38-minutes.

An Uber from Greenville to GSP costs $24 for an UberX and $35 for an UberXL. For anyone coming from Spartanburg, an UberX would cost $30, and an UberXL would cost $43.

Lyft prices are roughly the same as Uber prices. From Greenville, a standard Lyft ride would cost $25-30, and an XL ride costs $35-42. Spartanburg prices are $30-35 for a standard Lyft and $42-49 for an XL.

Our On Air Parking deal comes out significantly cheaper and will still provide the convenience, the ease, and the stress-free trip to the airport that we all want. With reserved parking, free cancellation, and free 24/7 shuttles to the airport, our parking deal of $6/day is the way to go.

****Prices start at $6.00. Holiday and extra inventory charges may apply****

Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport Fun Facts

GSP got its start in the 1950s when it became clear that smaller airports were becoming increasingly inadequate for new, larger commercial aircraft, so the air service split between two airports.

In 1962, Greenville-Spartanburg became the first non-military airport to have a runway centerline lighting system.

There is a National Weather Service office located at GSP that serves forecasts and storm warnings to forty-six surrounding counties in Upstate South Carolina, Georgia and Western North Carolina.
