UPDATED December 2020 rates: It costs $2/hour (with a max time of 2 hours) to park at the Spokane Airport. In the Economy lot, it's $5/day. Regular Outside parking is $8/day. Parking at the C Concourse is $7.50/day. Parking in the garage costs $11/day. The C Concourse is a credit card only location, while the other lots accept both credit and cash payments.

Spokane Airport has affected many people: it currently employs over 3,000 people and in 2019 alone, served about 4.1 million passengers. And it's not just people who pass through the airport in large numbers -in 2019, 68,981 US air cargo tons were processed by the airport. This reach extends to the whole region, as the airport's economic impact measures $725 million every year.
The airport's Board funds improvements as needed using various sources. The two parking structures at the airport, built-in 1979 and 2001, were financed by bonds. These bonds derived their income from parking fees. Additional charges built into plane ticket costs also help with airport upkeep, such as the Passenger Facility Charge and the Airport Improvement percentage fee.
The Spokane Airport has two joint owners: the city of Spokane and Spokane County. The airport's operation falls to the Spokane Airport Board, which is made up of representatives from both governmental bodies.
The airport occupies 6,140 acres. It's recognized by the FAA as a small hub but is the 2nd largest airport in Washington State.
While the Spokane airport is on the smaller side as far as international airports go, it still provides an excellent range of amenities for your layover. You can choose from fast food such as Burger King and Quiznos, get your caffeine fix at Starbucks, or sit down for a beverage and relaxing meal at the Spokane Tap Room or MVP Home Turf Sports Bar. There is a marketplace, travel mart, and newsstand for your quick snacking needs or personal items and sundries.
Spokane is a beautiful city for more extended layovers, and if you have the time, it's worth venturing outside the airport. Downtown Spokane is built along the Spokane River and is highly walkable. Outdoor enthusiasts and families with pets and small children can catch a breath of fresh air at the Riverfront Park. The park even includes a carousel and a cable ride over the falls! Catch a bite at one of the many pubs or restaurants lining the streets, or stroll and admire the boutiques and historic buildings around town. Whatever you decide to do, a layover in Spokane is far from wasted time!
