Public/Ground Transportation

As is this case with smaller cities, public transportation is limited, especially as an option for connecting to Tri-Cities Airport. Here is a closer look at the options for public/ground transportation to the airport.

1.       Taxis: three taxi companies operate at Tri-Cities Airport – On Time Taxi (509-460-6850), Rad Cab (509-585-2944), and Tri-City Cab (509-222-9208).

2.       Grapeline Buses: a bus company that connects Pasco and Walla Walla with several stops in between. Buses stop directly at the airport. Fares for the bus differ greatly, depending on pick-up location and final destination. For more information, or to book a trip, visit: https://grapeline.us/

3.       Hotel Courtesy Shuttles: several hotels in the area offer a free shuttle service for their guests. Contact your hotel ahead of time to see if they offer this service.

Ride Sharing

Ride Sharing companies like Uber and Lyft are becoming increasingly popular options for getting to/from airports. At Tri-Cities Airport, both of these companies are available.

Prices have been calculated from two different locations – downtown Pasco and West Pasco – to offer further insight into standard prices.

The rate for an Uber from downtown to PSC is $15 for an UberX and $19-20 for an XL. The ride would take approximately 8 minutes. A ride to/from West Pasco would take approximately 11 minutes and would cost $18 for an UberX and $23-24 for UberXL.

A standard Lyft ride from downtown Pasco to PSC is $15-18 and $18-21 for an XL. By comparison, a trip to/from West Pasco would cost $18-21 for a Standard and $20-25 for an XL.

These prices, however, are based on rides no further than 11 minutes away. Rideshare options for anyone who lives further from PSC would be significantly more expensive.

On Airport Parking at Tri-Cities Airport

2.       Long-term Parking: located behind short-term parking, but within walking distance to the terminal. The rates are free for the first 10 minutes, $2/10 minutes to 1 hour, and $10/day. Hourly rates are not available in this lot.

Tri-Cities Airport Fun Facts

From 1955-1966, the old administration building of the airport was used as the home of Columbia Basin College. The building was also leased to the Pasco School District, who used it until the building was destroyed by a fire in the mid-1980s.

The Pasco Airport (PSC’s original name) was the site for the first airmail flight between Nevada and Washington. This airmail contract flight was made by Varney Airlines, the airline that would eventually become United Airlines.

Naval Air Station Pasco was built at the airport during World War II. The airfield was sold back to the city of Pasco after the end of the war, but the Navy still holds training privileges.
