Does recent holiday overindulgence have you starting to think about kick-starting your workout routine for the new year? Whether you’re regretting how all those extra slices of pie have your pants fitting a little more snugly or just want to get healthier, making a commitment to working out is always a great New Year’s Resolution.
It can be especially hard to stay motivated to getting fit during a pandemic when many gyms are either closed or don’t feel as safe as they used to. That’s why we’ve compiled a list of Orlando-based gyms and trainers that are offering virtual workouts. Check them out so that you can be the best version of you in 2021!
Best Free Virtual Workout
Orlando All Fit
Times are hard right now, with the pandemic taking a major toll on the economy. If you’re being budget-conscious, the good news is there are great free virtual workouts in Orlando! Get started at All Fit -they’ve created a free 12-week program that you can do at home with little equipment. The program includes instructional videos and a companion app.
Best Paid Virtual Workout
Of course, if you can afford to pay for workouts, you’ll be helping to stimulate the economy and supporting the livelihoods of fitness instructors and gym owners. One Orlando studio you can support with your dollars is Vixen Fitness. They focus on the sexier side of getting healthy, with in-studio classes like pole dancing and aerial fitness. They’re currently offering “Sexy Chair” classes virtually on Sundays at 6pm. At only $5 a class, you can’t get much cheaper than that!
Best Live Virtual Workout
Anastassia Ballroom & Dance
One of the things many people miss about in-person exercise classes is the feeling of community and accountability that they foster! One organization offering live virtual classes is Anastassia Ballroom & Dance, located in nearby Leesburg. Group classes like Mambo, Salsa, Cha Cha, Samba, and Rumba are live-streamed weekly, and you can also book private lessons. Dancing is a great way to burn some calories and use new muscle groups while learning a skill!
Best Recorded Virtual Workout
One consistent throughout this pandemic has been that nothing is consistent. So, if you’re not sure you can commit to working out at specific days and times, you’ll want pre-recorded classes that you can do at any time. Get your fix at Yoga Mix, a woman-owned Orlando studio aimed at making Yoga fun. The studio has currently moved online where a membership will give you access to their on-demand library packed with “different styles and levels of yoga- from traditional Ashtanga or Kundalini to signature music-infused classes like Soul Flow, Vibe High Vinyasa or Down Dawg.”
Best Unique Virtual Workout
Active Kids 2.0
If you have kids, chances are they have a ton of pent-up energy these days. With school happening virtually and most regular activities cancelled, it’s hard for kids to stay active. Get them involved in your workout routine through the Youtube channel Active Kids 2.0. The channel is full of family-friendly workouts taught by professional athlete, fitness instructor, and Florida native Larissa Maloney.
