If you’ve found yourself in Salt Lake City, Utah with nothing to do, why not check out Utah’s Hogle Zoo? The zoo is open to the public and their hours of operation are 10am to 5pm through February, with extended hours beginning March 1st from 9am to 6pm. Prices for admission are as follows. Adults 13 years and older are $17.95. Children between the ages of 3 to 12 years of age are $13.95. Children younger than 3 years are free! If you’d like to purchase a membership, their Duo package for 2 adults is $119. Their Family package for 2 adults and any dependent children under the age of 18 (limit 10) is $199, and their Family Plus package for 2 adults and any dependent children under the age of 18 (limit 10) plus one guest is $229.

If you love sea lions, you’ll enjoy the Sea Lion/Seal Training event held daily at 11:30am and 3pm, or on Wednesdays from 3-3:30pm. You’ll be able to watch as the keepers take the sea lions and seals through their paces, training them through these crowd-pleasing sessions. You’ll be able to learn about how they adapt to their environment, get to know their individuality, and find out what you can do to support and help their wild counterparts around the world.

If you’re an art lover, then World of the Wild is what you’ll want to come and see. This exhibition is open through the 14th of February between the hours of 10am to 3pm and features all kinds of art, both sculpture and canvas, that tells a story of the wild. Some pieces will even be available for purchase and 30% of the proceeds will go toward the Hogle Zoo to keep art shows such as this continuing to wow guests long into the future.

The zoo has reopened the Zoofari Express Train Ride! For $2.50 per person, you can ride this train through the African Savanna exhibit where you’ll be able to have a gander at the giraffes, the lions, the zebras, the ostriches, and other critters from the African plain. The Zoofari Express has had an upgrade! The track has been revamped and lengthened to circle around the new African exhibits. This ride is a hit with children of all ages!

The Hogle Zoo Conservation Carousel is also open, with rides available for $2.50 per person. This carousel is one of the zoo’s most well-loved attractions and boasts 42 animals that have all been crafted by hand. Not only is a ride everyone in the family can enjoy, it is also a piece of art that will be enjoyed for generations to come.
