If you’re looking for something fun to do in Atlanta, why not come to the Zoo Atlanta? Admission times are 9:30am – 5:oopm, with the last admission at 3:30pm. General admission is $26.99 – $29.99 for an adult ticket 12+, or for a child 3-11, the price is $20.99 – $21.99. Children under 2 are free, as well as all active military. The Zoo Atlanta proudly offers Wild Encounters, a program where you can get up close and personal with some of the zoo’s very own animals. You have your pick between the elephant, the Aldarra tortoise, or a virtual wild encounter with a giant panda! These experiences allow you to touch and feed these animals in a safe environment, and care for them as the zookeepers do. Gift certificates can be purchased in increments of $25 all the way up to $100. Reserve your tickets, as you do not want to miss this experience!

The Treetop Trail is another fun activity at the Zoo Atlanta, with rope bridges and rope ladders, nets, and foot lines resembling tight ropes. Exploring these varying treetops, you’ll be learning of the differing habitats and lifestyles of animals who live in trees. All children must be 48 inches to participate, and all guests will be securely fastened with a body harness as well as a lanyard to a tracking system overhead. This event is open Friday through Sunday, if the weather permits, from 10:30am – 4:30pm. The last ticket is sold at 4pm. The cost is $14.95, or for members, $11.95.

Plenty of food and shopping are available at the Zoo Atlanta as well. From frozen treats to a grilled cheese cart, and from a food truck to a brewing company to a café, the zoo has you covered for food and drinks, whether you want snacks or something to whet your whistle.

Shops within the zoo offer a wide array of souvenirs from clothing to hats to puzzles and stuffed animals. Pandamonium is the name of one of the Zoo Atlanta’s most eclectic shops, as everything within is panda themed! If you adore pandas and want souvenirs to match, you must come and check out Pandamonium while you’re visiting the zoo.

Twice a month the zoo offers a cool walk-thru of the grounds called Twilight Trek. This special occasion allows guests to watch and track the animals’ activities at night that the whole family can enjoy. The fee is $20 per person 3+ and up, or $15 for members. All children under 3 years of age are free.
