Many are eager to see 2020 come to a close, but at least the holidays are here along with hopes for holiday cheer. Although many holiday traditions are being altered or skipped this holiday season, there is still cheer to be found! In many cities, including Columbus, a festive activity that is still socially-distant is viewing Christmas lights around the town.

Whatever you’re looking for this year, there are multiple options for a festive outing either walking outdoors or driving past in your car. Check out the list below for the top spots to get lost in the twinkle of Christmas lights!

  1. Light It Up in Mt. Gilead

Flying Horse Farms begins their beautiful Light Up Camp on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, and are open every Friday through Sunday evening from December 27, including both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The drive through the farm is a half-mile long and features fantastically bedecked buildings, and in the center of the camp, a 12-minute animated light show is sure to dazzle the guests! For Covid safety, Flying Horse Farms ask all visitors to remain in their cars for the duration of the event. The light display is a whopping 3 miles of lights, and is constructed of more than 8,000 individual bulbs. While the event is free, donations are welcome for camps that allow special-needs children with to enjoy a camp experience.

  1. Holiday Lights at Columbus Commons

Enjoy the 10th year of festive lights at Columbus Commons now through Sunday, January 3, every day from 5:00pm until to 10:00pm. Guests will be dazzled by more than 400,000 LED lights within the park. This event is free and self-guided. Come and enjoy the holiday cheer with friends and family this festive season. With our wide expanse of six acres, there’s room to practice social distancing while still having fun with the entire family.

  1. Lights of Glenross

In a quiet Delaware subdivision, the Lights of Glenross captivates with about 250 houses who all band together to display their choreographed lights to Christmas music broadcasted by 94.1FM. The displays will run from 5-9pm Sunday-Thursday and 5-11pm Friday & Saturday.
