Visit Manhattan

Perhaps one of the most well known parts of New York City is the island of Manhattan. Just about a twenty-six minute trip from Newark, you can be in the heart of the city in the blink of an eye. Once you arrive, there’s a lot of adventures to choose from. Manhattan is home to some of the best museums in the world. The two most visited include:

The 9/11 Memorial & Museum – A museum honoring the heroes as well as those lost in the horrific terrorist attacks of September 2001. The museum is home to memorial fountains situated in the footprints of the original Twin Towers. As you explore the museum, listen to first hand accounts of witnesses and survivors and view some of the items collected from Ground Zero. Keep in mind this is a memorial and a beautiful way to pay your respects to the families involved in the tragedy.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art (often referred to as the Met) – A museum dedicated to a whopping seventeen different departments. Housing items like antique weapons, musical instruments, and costumes and accessories, this museum offers a variety to meet the taste of anyone.

A simple internet search will yield results for museums ranging from classical art to the eclectic. Choose the one that fits your tastes.

Also located in Manhattan are popular spots like Radio City Music Hall, Rockefeller Plaza, Central Park, and so many more.
