Orlando. This Floridian center of entertainment brings millions from around the world to pack its amenities, between empires of amusement parks, charming neighborhoods, and rapid growth. And for all the efforts devoted to events, Orlando does not fail to deliver. If you will be in Central Florida during the autumntime, whether as a visitor or as a local, you may be wondering what Orlando might have in store for this part of the year. We’ve got you covered- read on for some of our favorite autumn festivals and events around Orlando.

Halloween Horror Nights

For its popular image, Orlando’s entertainment is not solely focused on families, as one might assume upon first glance. In fact, the thrills and scares are dialed up to eleven for those visitors lucky(?) enough to brave Halloween Horror Nights, a terrifying and proud tradition of Universal Studios for nearly thirty years. The attention to detail will put visitors between awe and panic, with the stunts and exhibits becoming ever more intricate each year. A rotating list of horror staples and the biggest hits reside around in the park in haunted houses and in the shadows, with some even chasing visitors! Over the years, this has included Zombieland, Stranger Things, American Horror Story, The Exorcist, The Walking Dead, Saw, Chucky, and countless other infamous faces in an expanding series of dozens of exhibits. For a premier horror experience that will have you coming back for more, we recommend catching Halloween Horror Nights if you’re in Orlando during October.

Epcot Food & Wine

Disney’s most laid-back and tranquil addition takes on a welcoming and delicious air, every year during the Epcot Food & Wine festival! Visitors of all ages, interests, and groups will enjoy the relaxed sampling of dishes from around the world- true to the Epcot vision. Belgian, Australian, Hawaiian, Japanese, and many more cuisines reside around the park’s floral areas, complimenting the world showcase in an ode to the culinary traditions of the world and to Disney’s own heritage of showcasing food to generations. Bring the group to Epcot’s Food & Wine and enjoy the atmosphere meticulously crafted by Disney each year in this display of Food, Wine, and most importantly, relaxation.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

For younger travelers, Halloween Horror Nights and the likes might be too intense, and thankfully Disney also has us covered there. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a great choice for families to celebrate the Halloween spirit in an event that’s inclusive to everyone! Spend the Halloween season in the Magic Kingdom with all your favorite characters from the films, and enjoy holiday twists on the rides, a spooky (but not too spooky) parade, firework shows, live musical performances, and of course, trick-or-treating. Visitors can come in their costumes or enjoy the party in regular clothes, either way, the atmosphere is immersive and cheery as it is true to the Halloween spirit.
