If you’re looking for something fun and exotic to do in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, why not check out the Philadelphia Zoo? The Philly Zoo will reopen its doors on February 11th through the 15th! After which the zoo will be open Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Make sure you have reserved your tickets online to return and see the wonder of the animals they have on exhibit. From now until March 21st, all guests aged 2 and up will be $20 admission. Children under 2 years of age are free! Parking is $17. Alternately, you can become a member of the zoo. Membership starts for individuals at $60. For a couple, it’s $90. For a family, which includes 2 adults and 2 children, it’s $150. For the family plus, which includes 2 adults, 4 children, and 2 free tickets to be used once for friends or family, is $200. Finally, for the family deluxe, you can have 2 adults, 4 children, and up to 2 guests each visit for $275.

Hours of operation shall be 9:30am to 4pm through March 21st. After March 24th, hours for the zoo will be 9:30am to 5pm daily. All tickets for the zoo must be reserved online as they will be opening the doors to staggered entry times to cut down on crowds.

Meet and greets with the animals are temporarily suspended until further notice. However, all the outdoor exhibits are open and ready to be seen and enjoyed, which include Big Cat Falls, home to tigers and lions and many different kinds of endangered cats from across the globe. Or you might want to visit the African Plains and see the rhino or the giraffe or the zebra. The Outback Outpost takes you down under with emu, kangaroos, and more! Everyone loves playful penguins and the Philadelphia Zoo’s Penguin Point is a great way to watch them as they waddle across the land or zoom around in the water.

The Philadelphia Zoo is unique in that it employs a system called Zoo360 trails. What is it? It’s a network of mesh trails for different animals to traverse that brings them closer to you and off the beaten path of their habitats. These mesh trails might be on the ground or above your head, but the idea is to give you an up-close-and-personal experience with the animals who live at the zoo.
