William B. Umstead State Park
Covering over five thousand acres here just ten miles north of Raleigh, William B. Umstead State Park features hiking, bridle, biking, boating, (and boat rentals!), camping, picnicking, and countless miles of trails, connecting to the famous East Coast Greenway. Among the variety of habitats and settings here in the park, visitors will enjoy the natural beech tree forests, streams, and lakes. For those who want to spend a while removed in the North Carolina wilderness but not too far from home, or for those who just want a daytime activity in their itinerary, William B. Umstead State Park is a great option.
Dorothea Dix Park
This is one of Raleigh’s most esteemed meeting spots, Dorothea Dix Park. Named after the famed medical activist, Dorothea Dix Park continues to wow and serve the Raleigh community with its bountiful green space and the ever-famous Daffodil Fields! These Daffodil Fields offer a captivating background for any photography project, as well as serving as a worthy subject for their own photos. The accompanying Sunflower Fields are also of interest, for those guests who really want to be immersed in the colors of summer. With operation seven days a week, twenty four hours a day, Dorothea Dix Park is also a great place for nighttime gatherings to watch the stars/sunrise/sunset over Raleigh.
Raleigh Rose Garden
Tour the Raleigh Rose Garden with your party and enjoy colorful and verdant backdrops featuring ornate lily ponds, rustic footpaths, and last but not least, a striking variety of roses in every color! This is a favored local destination for formal and casual photoshoots alike, great for couples, weddings, reunions, and family photos. Aside from these, the Raleigh Rose Garden and it’s nighttime hours, with nighttime events that are a great experience for all visiting the Raleigh area, a great place to sit back and enjoy the skies over Raleigh in a calm setting.
