Children under 2 years old require a zoo ticket but are free to attend. Tickets for this event includes a free animal plushy, breakfast, and zoo admission. Do you love penguins? Then do not miss the chance to learn more about them as they’re fed breakfast and dinner before the guests. At 10:30-10:45am and again at 3:30pm-3:45pm, come and watch these endangered birds eat fish with gusto as a narrator teaches the crowd about their habitat and daily life. This event is proudly sponsored by the Herman & Walter Samuelson Children’s Hospital at Sinai. The event is free to guests.
If you’d love to do more with penguins, come to the year-round Penguin Training experience daily at 3:15pm for 30-40 minutes of learning with a Zoo Educator as they take you on a guided tour of the penguin habitat. The Penguin Training experience is for parties of up to 2 people, and children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a paying adult. Pricing is $29 for members, $29 for non-members. You can purchase tickets online through the link to the Maryland Zoo provided below.
Another great opportunity at the Maryland Zoo is the chance to walk a goat! The famed Goat Trek harnesses the zoos resident goats, and you get to join them on a trek through the farmyard. The Goat Trek is held Fridays and Saturdays year-round (excluding July and August) and is 15-20 minutes long. This experience is for a party of up to 6 people. Children under 5 years of age are NOT allowed on the Trek. The price for this experience is $15 for members, or $19 for non-members.
