WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
The start of the Pride movement began in June 1969, at the Stonewall Inn. Members and allies of the LGBT community began rioting to show and highlight the inequality the community faced. This escalated over the month with people coming together demanding change. A year later, and annual Pride Marches started to take place in cities across the country, where the people marching were there to remember and thank the patrons of Stonewall Inn, and to highlight the need for more inclusivity.
