If you’re looking for your next great family adventure, or someplace different to take the kids, we have you covered. Spending a day out with the kids is a great way to recapture your own childlike curiosity and love of play, so we’ve included plenty of options that will make the adults as happy as the kids. Below are some of the best, most unique, and most beloved things to do with your kids near Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Christmas Cottage Holiday Shoppe

Christmas Cottage is the oldest Christmas and collectibles shop in Manhattan; what was once a temporary store, open only during the Christmas season, has become a year-round NYC staple. It is the best place to take the kids for a new ornament for the tree. With hundreds of unique ornaments to choose from, the question is not ‘will I find the one I want’, but ‘how will I choose’? They also have incredible snow globes (perfect for collections), Christmas decorations of every variety, Santas, Snowmen, and more. It is a charming, exciting place to take the kids year-round, and especially in the Fall months when December is far away, but we all need a little Christmas Magic.

The Gazillion Bubble Show

In a city known for its wacky, unique, and incredible live performances, the Gazillion Bubble Show still stands out. “Master of Bubbles” Fan Yang, and his family, have been performing this show for more than a decade in New York City. Kids absolutely adore it, and the show will have you feeling like a kid too. Bubble magic happens live on stage, as well as fantastic laser lighting effects, and bubbles that come to life as sculptures and wild shapes. In the audience, you’ll all be trying to catch the bubbles yourself. It is the perfect family show for a spectacular night.

Spyscape

Have your kids ever wanted to be a spy like James Bond? At Spyscape, a museum for all things spy-related, the whole family can test their covert skills at the exhibit “007xSPYSCAPE” (a new immersive James Bond experience). Or you can work with “British Intelligence” and receive a briefing of your mission, crack codes, attempt to stay undercover, and even go on a special ops mission (winding your way past lasers of course). Before or after this interactive exhibit, you can stroll through all the fun gadgets of spycraft and even purchase them at the Spyshop.

Central Park

Central Park is one of the playgrounds of Manhattan. Thousands of people flock to it every day for a break from the “concrete jungle”, but even though it can be busy, it is a great place to take the kids because there are so many things to do. And in the few blocks of Central Park just North of Carnegie Hall, you can keep busy for several days. The Central Park Zoo is a popular site as well as Heckscher Playground, Wollman Rink, and Hallett Nature Sanctuary.
