Lounges in Chicago O’Hare Airport

I’m sure you already know, but Chicago O’Hare Airport is extremely busy; flying can already seem like a stressful process and combine this with the big crowds, and an airport can become a very unpleasant experience. Luckily, O’Hare has a great selection of lounges for you, to make your trip a lot more enjoyable.

United Club

There are four United Club lounges available to choose from at Chicago O’Hare so you are always close to a little comfort, the locations for the lounges are as follows;

Concourse B North, Terminal 1, close to Gate B18Concourse B South, Terminal 1, close to Gate B6Concourse C, Terminal 1, close to Gate C16Concourse F, Terminal 2, opposite Gate F4

All the lounges are open every day, in Concourse B the opening times are from 5:30am until 10pm, and for the other three the times are from 4:30am until 10pm.

In order to enter the lounges, you must be a member of the United Club, however, if there is space available on the day and you are traveling with United Airlines, you can pay a one-off amount for entry of $59. The lounges have a wide range of facilities for you to use including;

  • Drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic)
  • Magazines and Newspapers
  • Air-Conditioning
  • Televisions and use of their telephones
  • Internet Access
  • Options for Conference Facilities
  • Showers are also available in the Concourse C lounge

While the lounges have nearly everything you need to unwind before your trip, unfortunately, there are not any sleeping areas in any of the four lounges.

American Airlines Admiral Club

The Admiral Club offer a lot of luxury in their choice of three lounges and is a great way to spend time before your flight, whether it be to catch up on work or to relax, you will find one of their lounges in the following areas;

Concourse G, Terminal 3, opposite Gate G8Concourse H/K, Terminal 3, between Gate H6 and Gate K6Concourse L, Terminal 3, close to Gate L1

These lounges have varying opening times, for concourse G the lounge is open every day from 6am until 10pm, except for Saturdays when it closes at 8pm. In Concourse H/K the lounge is open 4am until 10pm daily. The lounge in Concourse L is 5:15am until 9pm every day, except Saturdays when it closes at 7pm.

If you do not have an annual membership with American Airlines, then you cannot access the lounges unless there is space available on the day you are traveling, and you are flying with American Airlines, in this case, you can make a one-ff payment of $59 at the door to enter. There is a huge range of facilities for you to use in all of the lounges, including;

  • Drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic)
  • Printing Services via Hotspot
  • A Variety of Snacks
  • Televisions
  • Internet Access
  • Travel Assistance
  • Workstations
  • Concourse L also has fax machines and disabled access
  • Concourse H has showers available

While the lounges are very comfortable, there are not any facilities for sleeping, and there is also a surcharge for certain wines and cocktails.

Delta Sky Club

There is only one location available at Chicago O’Hare, however, they have managed to fit in everything you will need in order to relax before your flight leaves, you will find the lounge at;

Concourse E, Terminal 2, by Gate E

The opening times for the lounge are 5am until 8:30pm on Sunday through to Friday, then 4:30am until 6pm on Saturdays.

You can only gain entry to the lounge if you are a member of the Delta Sky Club, it doesn’t matter which airline you are traveling with on the day, but you cannot purchase a day pass. You will find the following facilities in the lounge;

  • Drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic)
  • Televisions and access to the lounge phones
  • Internet Access
  • A Variety of Snacks
  • Magazines and Newspapers
  • Travel Assistance
  • Printing via Hotspot
  • Photocopier and Fax Machine

As with the previous lounges, there are no sleeping facilities in the Delta Sky Club lounge.

Air France KLM VIP

This lounge is a perfect way to escape the hustle and bustle of such a busy airport, there are excellent facilities that make for a comfortable environment. However, there is only one lounge available which you will find here;

Terminal 5, between Gate M8 and Gate M7

The lounge is open every day from 8:30am until 12am (midnight). The lounge is accessible by any person who is departing from Terminal 5 only, and you can buy a day pass regardless of who you are traveling with or your flight class, or you can use your membership card. The facilities you will find inside are;

  • Drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic)
  • Magazines and Newspapers
  • Air-Conditioning
  • Internet Access
  • Disabled Access

There are no sleeping facilities in this lounge.

Swissport Lounge

The Swissport lounge is a lovely way to take some time relaxing and preparing for your journey ahead, the lounge is very stylish and comfortable, there is one lounge available which you will find in;

Terminal 5, between Gate M8 and M7

The lounge is open every day between 12pm and 9:30pm, with the exception of Christmas Day and New Year’s Day when it is closed.

You can enter the lounge if you have are part of a lounge membership program, or you can pay on the day and use the facilities regardless of who you are traveling with, or your flight class. The facilities you will find are;

  • Drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic)
  • Televisions
  • Magazines and Newspapers
  • Air-Conditioning
  • Internet Access
  • Disabled Access

This lounge also does not have any sleeping facilities.

USO Lounge

The USO Lounge is specifically for members of the U.S Military who are currently active, and their families. The lounges are very spacious and offer a lot of facilities, there are two locations are O’Hare;

Terminal 2, Mezzanine Level, before you reach securityConcourse G, Terminal 3, Mezzanine Level, after security

The location in terminal 2 is open 24 hours a day, and the lounge in terminal 3 is open from 6am until 10:30pm.

The lounge access is completely free for the qualifying personal, and the facilities inside are all free also. Inside the lounges you will find;

  • Food and Drinks
  • Television and Selection of Movies
  • Internet Access
  • Printer and Fax Machines
  • Library Area
  • Play Area for Children
  • Transport, and Emergency Assistance

There are no sleeping facilities in the lounge, but they are both very comfortable with allocated quiet zones.

There are some great choices of lounges at Chicago O’Hare, and they are definitely worth checking out, even as a one-off experience. However, be warned, once you have experienced the luxury and stress-free environment of any of the various lounges, you will want to use one every time you travel.
