Creekside Blues and Jazz Festival
The Creekside Blues and Jazz Festival has serenaded the Columbus community since 1999, providing generations of Ohioans with live Jazz and Blues, outdoor activities, food, crafts, and games all with a sense of community very much characteristic to small town Ohio. Jazz and Blues bands local and from over the nation fill the air with music into the night, while local artists and food vendors await in open-air markets for all to the shop to their hearts’ content. The proximity to Big Walnut Creek also provides the opportunity to partake in kayaking with lessons and experiences for the skilled and beginner, open to all age groups. For a festive, outdoors day of music, shopping, delicious food, and activity, bring the group to the Creekside Blues and Jazz Festival!
Embrace Columbus’ strong German-American heritage in an immersive (and delicious!) way. Every year, Columbus celebrates the strong German roots of Ohioans by reveling in live music, feasts, games, crafts, costumes, and daring strongman competitions. Enjoy traditional German song and dance and either participate directly on the dance floor or watch and enjoy the festivities, dine on endless brews, sausages, pretzels, spaetzle, sauerkraut, and Central European fare, and shop for hand-crafted souvenirs. The daring feats of the Oktoberfest also provide a great show….or the opportunity to prove your might in front of the crowds! These strongman competitions include a stone-throwing competition, a stone lifting competition, a keg throwing competition, a keg bench press, and a keg hold competition. Between strongman adrenaline, lively song and dance, and endless delicious options, Columbus Oktoberfest is a highlight of every Ohio autumn.
The Columbus area also has a strong Hispanic Heritage, in full display and pride every September with the Festival Latino!
