2020 is finally coming to an end! Before this crazy year comes to a close, we can at least all still have some holiday cheer. Although many holiday traditions are being altered or skipped this holiday season, there is still cheer to be found! In many places, including Detroit, a festive activity that is still socially-distant is viewing Christmas lights around the town.

Whatever you’re looking for this year, there are multiple options for a festive outing either walking outdoors or driving past in your car. Check out the list below for the top spots to get lost in the twinkle of Christmas lights!

  1. Big Bright Light Show

For the fourteenth year in a row, buildings in downtown Rochester will be illuminated with more than 1 million points of glimmering holiday lights all season long. Take a walk with the family around Downtown Rochester and stop in to the wonderful retail shops to support small businesses. As a bonus, the Big, Bright Light Show will be aglow every Friday, Saturday and Sunday in January through January 17.

  1. The Christmas Light Show 2020 (Comstock) 

With over two million lights, more than 50 animated displays and lighted tunnels throughout two miles this is the ultimate holiday experience. Fan favorites that will return include: Elephant + 2 new babies, Father Winter, Nativity, Santa and American Flag. The Christmas Light Show Tickets ($25 per car) that are purchased can be used on any date that we are open this 2020 season and a portion of proceeds is donated to the Grand Rapids Veterans Home each year. The Christmas Light Show begins at Fifth Third Ball Park, 4500 West River Drive.

  1. Magic of Lights at DTE Music Theater

The Magic of Lights is a drive-through holiday lights display featuring 1.5 miles of various holiday themed lights using digital animations and LED technology. You will not have to leave the warmth and comfort of your own car as you navigate this fantastic light show. This leaves you safe and socially distant as you enjoy this event. Tickets start at $20 per car. DTE Music Theater is located at 33 Bog Segar Drive.
