New York City. The Big Apple. This global hub speaks for itself, needing no introduction in virtually every possible area, the action never stops in the city that never sleeps. With so much to see in New York, we’ll dive right in. Here are some of our favorite places to take pictures here in the city.
One of New York City’s many famous and storied locations, Rockefeller Center is a great way to mark your stay around Carnegie Hall and of your time here in the Big Apple! Especially around wintertime, when the ice rink is to stay, along with the massive annual Christmas tree! The proximity to other New York City landmarks also makes this a great visit for cityscape photographers and those wanting to really immerse their project in the urban setting of New York.
Of course, of all of the major tourist destinations here around New York, if you and your party will be here around Times Square, you can’t pass up the chance to make the many billboards and screens of this iconic location your backdrop. Nicknamed “the center of the universe” for it’s intense energy and dynamic nature, this is a great setting for the casual photo of every group of every size.
While the name really says enough, it is the rich collection of over five thousand years of human expression, the grand exterior and roomy, intricate insides of this building that elevate it to a premier attraction of this neighborhood. Whether as an easy addition to any travel itineraries due to its proximity and prestige, we highly recommend all visitors who can, to make room to visit this storied institution.
Liberty State Park and Liberty Island
One of the tri-state area’s most iconic faces around the world is that of Lady Liberty herself, visitors need not go far to see her. Whether from the shoreline with Lady Liberty in the background, or upclose in the view from her crown, both are within close reach. The numerous ferries to Liberty Island provide for closer visits to Liberty Island and views of New York City from the water, while Liberty State Park itself also provides for views of the New York Skyline and Lady Liberty herself. We recommend a visit closer to sundown hours to see New York and the statue by daytime, and the city skyline by night in all of its lights.
Indeed, Central Park also has plenty to boast in the way of picturesque backdrops, including the Jacqueline Onassis Kennedy reservoir and the Great Lawn among some of the spots visitors can tour while here in New York. This is a great setting for casual photoshoots for groups, couples and solo shoots alike. Make the most of New York City’s green heart and bring the party to Central Park!
