Let’s take a look at what this city has to offer and maybe you’ll find something your whole family will love.

First, we suggest the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum with its sweeping architecture and breathtaking art. Finally open again to the public, this museum houses exquisite exhibitions by masters such as Jackson Pollock, impressionists Degas, Gauguin, Picasso, and many more. The Fullness of Color: 1960’s Painting is another exhibition that will delight your senses as you take in the decade that pushed the boundaries of abstract painting. For any art lover, the Guggenheim is a fantastic choice to spend the day.

Second, we suggest visiting one of the most iconic places in all of the Big Apple, the Empire State Building. Open to the public, be sure to reserve your tickets online. The 86th floor observatory gives you and the family the perfect vista of the New York City skyline directly from Midtown Manhattan. This observatory is open-air and gives you a 360-degree view of the entire city. From this deck you’ll be able to see Central Park, the Statue of Liberty, as well as the Brooklyn Bridge. Restaurants are also open within the building, so come and make a day of it with the kids!

The Brooklyn Botanic Garden is the perfect place to spend the day. Come and take a wander through their meandering paths through several gardens, including the Rock Garden, the Herb Garden, and the Water Garden. Current flowers in bloom would be the Crocus, Chinese Witch-Hazel, and the Snowdrop. The cherry trees have not begun to bloom, but keep an eye on these beauties, as they usually come alive in late March. The cherry blossoms of the Botanic Garden are gorgeous and not to be missed. Make sure you take the time to bring the family to have a day in this glorious garden.

Finally, you might like to visit Coney Island, where pop culture is honored through various performances and exhibitions of innovation. You might visit the Coney Island Museum, the Shooting Gallery and Arts Annex, or the Sideshows by the Seashore. Do not miss their special attractions, such as the Mermaid Parade and the Coney Island Circus Sideshow. If you are eccentric or love all things eclectic and kitschy, Coney Island is most definitely for you. It is a mixture of a museum, a parade, and a carnival, making it one of the most unique places in all of New York to visit for the day!
