Andina is a laid-back, family friendly establishment that is just as delicious as it is welcoming, serving up mouthwatering alfajores and Peruvian fare, while the Abbey Road Farm is an indulgent multi-course brunch including wines, coffee, teas, fresh juices and some of the best in Oregon produce. Our highlight is the takeout package from Providore Fine Foods, offering several options for those visitors who want to enjoy breakfast at home or out on a picnic.
Hiking around Portland
For the more outdoorsy dads, Portland is a great destination for Father’s Day weekend, with abundant forests, rivers, meadows and landscapes to explore. Lower Macleay Park features an enchanting, emerald walk ending at the iconic Pittock Mansion on a five-mile round trip right in the city. This is a great option for those travelers who are operating on a tighter schedule, and can’t stray too far from downtown. The Wildwood Trails starts at Washington Park, home of some of Portland’s most celebrated attractions including the Hoyt Arboretum, the International Rose Test Garden, and the Oregon Zoo. This is a great choice with flexibility, whether for those who want to stay within the bounds of the park and enjoy the flowers, or to take on the thirty some miles of the Wildwood Trail. With over 5,000 acres, Forest Park in northern Portland is one of the nation’s largest urban forests! Amid old-growth ferns, maples and firs, this is a great getaway from your getaway, and also is notably accessible by much of the public transport here in Portland!
Tree to Tree Adventure Park
Dad and the family will enjoy the challenges at Tree to Tree Adventure Park, featuring a six level obstacle course up into the tree canopy, wobbly bridges, tight ropes, balance beams, ropes and zip lines! This is a great daytime activity and also doubles as a funny addition to any travel albums, we recommend the highlighted 1200-foot long zip line for the daring dads.
