Brazos Bend State Park

Hiking, geocaching, nature photography, horseback riding, picnicking, fishing, biking, stargazing, and of course, camping, visitors can see and do it all here at Brazos Bend State Park, one of Houston and Texas’s most esteemed state parks. Here at this massive park, there is a truly beautiful and exciting variety of habitats, settings, wildlife, and experiences to be had. Aside from the classic campsites, screened shelters and cabins are also available for rental. Speaking of stargazing, if the famously clear and wide Texas night sky isn’t enough for your party, you can take the skywatching up to eleven and visit the George Observatory, a high-power telescope and sky observatory. Bring your party to Brazos Bend State Park, for those who want a one-stop destination that offers it all! 

Huntsville State Park

Adorned with oceans of loblolly pines and shortleaf pine trees, Huntsville State Park is another proud addition to the series of natural reserves, parks, and wildlife areas around the Houston area. Here, with resident populations of white-tailed deer, opossums, armadillos, fox squirrels, 218 species of bird, popular sport fish, and alligators, this is a great destination for those wildlife photographers and animal enthusiasts visiting the Houston area. 

Spring Creek Park

For those families visiting the Houston area and those travelers who wish to enjoy the Texas wilderness but do not want to leave the comforts of home, Spring Creek Park is your destination. Equipped with massive campsites, RV lots, playgrounds, trails, picnicking areas, barbecue pavilions, lit tennis courts, a softball field, a basketball court, archery range, sand volleyball courts, restrooms, and showers, Spring Creek Park brings the pleasures of home living and sport to the outdoors! Aside from these many facilities, there is also the calm creek and hiking/biking trails. This is also a great option for those in the northern Houston area who don’t want to travel to other areas of the city for outdoor recreation, nature and clear night skies.
