Washington, DC. The nation’s capital, seemingly packed to the brim with landmark institutions, events and activity everywhere you look, visitors and locals alike will not fail to find more than enough to do here around the year. Between travelers composing an itinerary for a getaway and curious locals, there’s something for everyone here in Washington DC. Something in the Water

Festival goers and dads who want to get out and enjoy the June sunshine on the streets of D.C., look no further than Pharell Williams’s Something in the Water Festival! This famous Virginia native teams up with fellow locals Pusha T and Dave Matthews Band as well as major acts such as Usher and Tyler, the Creator to take over the streets of the capital this Father’s Day weekend. Aside from the big acts, plenty of smaller local bands will take the stage, and has quickly become one of the biggest hubs for creativity and music of the Commonwealth. 


Dining around Washington D.C.

Of course, no Father’s Day is complete without delicious food, thankfully, with the selection of talented chefs, kitchens, eateries and restaurants here around the capital, dads of every palate and taste will find themselves truly spoiled for options. Belga Cafe serves up Belgian and European-inspired fare, with delicious mussels, fries, sea bass, beef stew, crepe and of course, waffles for a brunch that is as varied as it is tasty, while Clyde’s of Gallery Place offers contemporary American fare in a stunning setting. Juneteenth around the Capital

Around the Capital itself and around the Maryland and Virginia suburbs, Juneteenth is another major event of Father’s Day weekend! Here, families can rejoice in one of the most important events in African-American history in a myriad of cultural programs, performances, live music, arts, crafts, storytelling and more! Aside from the numerous activities and festive atmosphere, there are also plenty of small businesses, talented kitchens, delicious food trucks and open-air markets that come to complete the occasion! This is a great way to celebrate the holidays with dad all with good music and good food.
