One of Chicago’s premier attractions, a hub of meeting, leisure, expression and community, the sheer variety of backdrops and things to see and do here at Millennium Park make it a solid stop for all visiting the city. Solo projects, couples photos, family postcards or group memories all are appropriate for this spacious corner of Chicago, and visitors will be delighted to see the number of options! Open green spaces such as Lake View Park and the Great Lawn are your canvas, while Lurie Garden and the Play Garden are a green getaway inside a getaway. Maggie Daley Park offers entertainment for all ages along its winding footpaths, while the Chase Promenade provides great opportunities for people watchers and those wanting to photograph everyday subjects of Chicago. The proximity to busy downtown Chicago and a number of grandiose institutions, eateries and attractions also make this accessible for a number of travel itineraries. Of course, we couldn’t forget Cloud Gate, “The Bean,” as some would know it, a signature monument that’ll make it especially clear to friends and family that yes, indeed, you were in Chicago.
One of Chicago’s more affluent neighborhoods, this is a charming collection of townhouses, narrow windows and shaded footpaths that provide for a great backdrop for any number of photography projects. Along the walkways and steps of this neighborhood, this is a great getaway from the more lively and hectic locations here in the bustling Windy City. This location is suitable for formal photoshoots as well as informal ones. Building and cityscape photographers especially should look into this area.
Sears Tower / Willis Tower Skydeck
Few locations are as daring as a glass balcony overlooking the city from the 103rd floor! Here up high on Willis Tower is Skydeck Chicago, a setting not for the faint of heart, giving a truly unique and intense background to any photo! For those also wanting to take tilt-shift and birds eye views photographs over the city, the high elevation here also provides for that. The size of the balcony also accommodates more than solo photographs (provided that many in your party can brave the height!), also allowing for couples and group photographs.
