This is a great option for both a daytime getaway and the multi-day camping trip, and accommodates travelers of all ages and interests.
Mammoth Cave National Park
The world’s longest known cave system. This is quite the introduction for this park, and it’s only the start, Mammoth Cave features some 680 kilometers of surveyed passageways, a journey through the center of the earth! In addition to this massive series of caves, Mammoth Cave also features a number of hiking trails and rivers cutting through the park, providing for a variety of settings and activities. This is a great day’s plan or a location for a multi-day camping trip, with so much to do and see, and it’s distance from cities means near-zero light pollution, a great place to end a long day of travel. This destination is a longer drive from Cincinnati, but is well worth the trip for those travelers with the longer stay here around Cincinnati.
