If you find yourself in Seattle, Washington with nothing to do, you won’t be bored for long. We have a few recommendations that will be sure to bring some joy to an otherwise normal day. Seattle is a city chock-full of things to do, so it won’t take a hard look before you find something of interest. But don’t take our word for it. All you have to do is walk a few blocks and you’ll find a new adventure right around the corner. Let’s take a look at all Seattle has to offer.
First, what trip to Seattle would be complete without a visit to the Space Needle? The Space Needle is open to the public and is showing of its newly renovated design, the first time in 50 years the Space Needle has been modernized. They have installed Skyrisers, which are described as “floor-to-forever” glass, complete with glass benches. Have a gander at the city below as never before and take a one-of-a-kind picture to hang on the wall. The Loupe is also new, a glass floor that rotates around the entire Needle, the only one of its kind! You won’t regret this breathtaking experience.
Second, we recommend the quirky MoPOP Museum of Pop Culture. If you love pop culture or wish to explore its fantastical exhibits, you’ve come to the right place in this museum. From an exhibit on tattoo culture to Minecraft to the band Nirvana (whose roots are in Seattle), you’ll find this museum’s quirkiness runs all across the board. Do you love horror films? Science fiction? Worlds of myth and magic? All of these things and more are available to see and tour while here. Everyone in the entire family will love it here.
The Pike Place Market is a staple of downtown Seattle, and a must-see if you’re in the city. This market is more like a permanent farmer’s market and Saturday market combined. Not only do they offer meat and produce from local farmers, they also have flowers, arts and crafts, leatherwork, and several other booths with various wares to buy. Go downstairs, and you’ll find a mall filled with shops and small eateries. You’ll get lost exploring the market. Definitely take a full day to take a look around. You just might find that perfect souvenir you’ve been looking for.
Finally, the Seattle Ferris Wheel is sure to excite the whole family as you rise above the skyline to look out upon the water. The ferris wheel was built fairly recently in 2012, yet already it is an iconic figure against the Seattle landscape. You may purchase your tickets in advance online and come down to the pier to enjoy a day of delicious food and a light show on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings.
Seattle is one of the gems of the Pacific Northwest. This city is known for her unique culture and coffee shops on every corner. You will not be bored here as there is so much to see and enjoy. Come and discover Seattle with the whole family.
