The British Virgin Islands are paradise for those looking for some of the best travel experiences they have ever experienced, and here, we will be covering everything you need to know before you visit the British Virgin Islands.

The BVI (British Virgin Islands) are a top vacation destination for so many, and for good reason. The islands are vast with over fifty islands and cays. However, there are only a handful that are worth visiting and actually inhabited. We will be covering the four main islands of Virgin Gorda, Tortola, Jost Van Dyke, and Anegada in this article. These four islands come packed with the best beach weather, unforgettable excursions, delectable restaurants, and some of the highest quality resorts to cater to your every need.

Need to Know Facts Before You Go

These islands are located off the east of Puerto Rico and are territory of the United Kingdom. They are known for some of the best worldwide sailing destinations, so when you are there, we would highly recommend doing some unforgettable sailing in these crystal blue waters.

Weather

The weather is fairly consistent throughout the year. Much like the Hawaiian Islands that do not deviate in climate throughout the year, these islands are very similar. The weather stays consistent and stays between 72-88 degrees Fahrenheit. So, do not be worried about the best time to visit. The British Virgin Islands are a perfect destination anytime of the year and the beaches are always full of lovely tourists and locals that bask in the sun and beautiful weather all year round. A huge tip for you, bring sunscreen or purchase some while there. You do not want to be the sunburnt tourist who did not prepare in advance for the tropical and sunny weather.

Best Time to Visit

The peak tourist months are November through April. The cheapest months to visit are May and June. If you are looking to avoid high traffic tourism and wish to be even more secluded from the world, then we highly recommend traveling outside of those busy tourist months listed above. However, with the islands being so popular, it is quite difficult to completely ditch tourism, so do not be surprised at the amount of people and groups that sought the beauty and relaxation of the British Virgin Islands.

Travel and Means to Get Around on the British Virgin Islands

There are no direct flights to the islands, so do expect a connecting flight from some other Caribbean Island to arrive at your designated island of choice. Once on the island you will be surprised that most islands are connected by boat rides, ferries, and charter boats. This means of travel makes it easy to bounce between islands and is most enjoyable. The boat rides are fantastic, and the waters are some of the most beautiful you will see in the world. Follow the link provided here to find some of the best ways to access car rentals, ferries, and charter boat transportation throughout the British Virgin Islands.
