Spain is unique in many different ways. People visit Spain to experience its amazing food, beautiful and historic cities, sandy beaches, and Spain’s fun and interesting culture. Spain’s population is over 47 million people and attracts millions of tourists each year with a mission to experience all that this lovely country has to offer. Let’s have a look at why Spain should make your vacation list.

Best Places to Stay

Spain offers plenty of lodging options. If you are looking to stay somewhere cheap such as a small hotel, for somewhere more luxurious where you can appreciate beautiful and historic architecture, or for a house to rent for total privacy, Spain will be sure to accommodate. If you are outdoorsy and prefer to spend your nights under the stars, Spain also provides plenty of different camping site options for you as well.

Bed and Breakfasts

One way to save money while also experiencing the culture of Spain is staying at one of the country’s bed and breakfasts. These lovely little places each offer a certain charm about them, with most of them being family owned. Staying at a bed and breakfast when in Spain will instill a warm and friendly atmosphere.

One bed and breakfast that we recommend is Corazon Andaluz. Corazon Andaluz is located in the town of Coin. Corazon Andaluz has many amenities that include beautiful views of the Spanish countryside, beautiful ancient architecture, and delicious food. On top of all of this, Carzon Andaluz also offers a swimming pool that all guests are free to enjoy.

Another choice is the Casa Alegria y Luna. Casa Alegria y Luna is a bed and breakfast in Sorbas, Spain. Casa Alegria y Luna is located in a beautiful area that is near the beaches of the national park, Cabo de Gata Almeria. Arrive at Casa Alegria y Luna and you will be greeted with an inviting atmosphere. On top of the lovely location and cozy rooms, Casa Alegria y Luna also offers delicious food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as a swimming pool and bike paths for guests.

Last, but definitely not least, another great option is Cortijo Don Camilo de La Huma. Cortijo Don Camilo de La Huma is located in the village of El Chorro and used to be a farmstead that now serves as a bed and breakfast. This bed and breakfast offers three guest rooms and even a yurt that has its own bathroom. Cortijo Don Camilo de La Huma is conveniently located between major cities, giving you access to find many cities of Spain with less than two hours of driving. This bed and breakfast offers its own pool and is a great option for those who enjoy outdoor activities such as rock climbing, mountain biking, and hiking.

A stay in any of these lovely options ensures a delicious breakfast and a warm bed without breaking the bank.

Vacation Rentals

Are you traveling to Spain with a large group of friends or family? In that case, the best option for you would be a vacation rental. You can rent anything from spacious homes and villas to condos or apartments. Need a kitchen? These rentals offer all the comforts of home in a Spanish setting. Check out AirBnB for available properties for rent during your trip. There’s sure to be something to fit your needs.

Camping Sites

One thing that may not come to mind when people think about staying in Spain is the country’s amazing camping spots. While most come to Spain to experience its delicious food and culture, if you are particularly outdoorsy, Spain’s camping sites should not go unnoticed.

When looking to camp in Spain, check out Catalunya. Catalunya is located in northeastern Spain and the campsites are situated in a beautiful beach setting. This campsite serves as a great place to escape and unplug and Catalunya also offers rentable villas in case you do not feel like packing a tent or renting an RV. There's plenty to do at Catalunya as well, such as hiking, swimming, mountain biking, and just about any outdoorsy activity that you like.

One of the best places to camp in Spain is in Andalusia. Andalusia is a beautiful and very historic region of Spain that boasts beautiful architecture such as cathedrals and palaces, as well as beautiful landscapes. Andalusia also offers looser camping rules, which means you won’t have to worry about the strict rules that the rest of the country enforces. There are plenty of places to camp in this area and you will find yourself being treated to gorgeous views as you travel through Andalusia. Some rules do still apply though, such as consulting the owner if camping on private land as well as not camping near military composts.

While camping may be something that most do not think about when booking a trip to Spain, those who enjoy the outdoors will be pleased to know that there are plenty of options.

Places to See

One of the most popular places to visit in all of Spain is the city of Barcelona. Barcelona serves as the capital of the Catalunya region and is known for its lively nightlife, breathtaking architecture, white beaches, and art galleries. There are also plenty of places to shop and eat at as well as numerous landmarks. Landmarks that you definitely should check out when spending time in Barcelona include:

Casa Mila - Also known as “The Stone Quarry,” Casa Mila is a very popular attraction in Barcelona. Casa Mila was built between the years 1906 and 1912 and is popular due to its very unique architecture. The building was carved from limestone, yet there are no straight edges, creating a soft and round effect. To truly appreciate this unique building, you will have to see it for yourself. It is well worth it.

La Rambla - Translating into english as “sandy riverbed,” La Rambla is a very unique landmark as it was once a flowing stream that has since dried up. Walking through La Rambla, you will notice the historic architecture that lines the streets, making it a true pleasure for a stroll during a sunny, Spanish afternoon.
